Short Term Programs

A group of students and an adult are shown in a room, some appear to be performing.

Short-term stays are typically one or two weeks of more focused programming for students with blindness/visual impairment and an IEP, but who are not attending NMSBVI on campus. The LEA, IEP team, and NMSBVI work in together to identify the specific skills related to the expanded core curriculum (i.e. tactile skills/braille, O&M, access technology, daily living, etc.) for which the student requires more rigorous instruction. To be considered for a short-term stay, the child’s LEA must contact NMSBVI.
